Privacy notice

This page explains what happens to your information when you visit ordercons.com (we keep anonymous visit statistics), sign up to hear about Orders & Consequences or send us a message. Short version: we only keep your email address to tell you about the game (or to answer you), and you can remove it with one click.

Who is responsible

Hk Stordal, Norway, runs ordercons.com and the mailing list. Contact us through the contact form.

What we store when you sign up

• Your email address.
• When you signed up, and whether our thank-you email was sent.
• The country your connection came from (as reported by our hosting provider – not your location or IP address).

To stop abuse, we also keep a one-way hash of your IP address for up to two days. The IP address itself is never stored.

When you send us a message

The contact form stores your name (if you give one), your email address, your message, the time and the country your connection came from. The message is forwarded to our inbox so we can answer you, and we use it for nothing else. Messages are deleted after 12 months – or earlier if you ask us to.

What we use it for

Only to email you about Orders & Consequences: the launch and major news about the game. We never sell or share your address, and we do not use it for advertising. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR article 6(1)(a)), which you give by signing up. When you sign up we send one thank-you email with a link to remove your address, in case someone else entered it.

How long we keep it

• Until you unsubscribe – every email has a link, and your address is deleted straight away.

Who helps us

• Cloudflare hosts the website and the database, and runs Turnstile – the bot check in the forms.
• Resend sends the emails.

Both process the data on our behalf under their data processing agreements and may process it outside Norway and the EEA under the safeguards those agreements provide.

Visit statistics

We count visits ourselves – no cookies, no third-party analytics. For each page view we store the page, the time, the country, the website that sent you here (just its name), the kind of device (from the screen width), how long the page was open, how far down you scrolled, and clicks on things like the trailer, the screenshots and the forms.

To count unique visitors without storing your IP address, we make an anonymous code from your IP address and browser together with a secret that changes every day (and one that changes every month). The code cannot be turned back into your IP address, and today’s code cannot be linked to tomorrow’s. Statistics are deleted after 13 months.

No tracking

The site sets no cookies for visitors and uses no third-party analytics or advertising tools. Fonts, images and video are served from our own domain. To keep bots out of the forms we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs a short check in your browser; Cloudflare uses it only to tell people from bots, not for advertising. If a trailer is hosted on YouTube, nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we have about you, and withdraw your consent at any time – the unsubscribe link does this instantly, or email us. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
